For those of you who aren't familiar with the titles of the German Shepherd Fancy, when you see an ROM behind the name of a German Shepherd Dog or Bitch it means they have earned the prestigious Register of Merit title.  In order to earn this title they must have achieved the following:

DOG:  His progeny must achieve 100 points or more.   Points must be earned by 10 or more progeny.  Five progeny must have an AKC title of champion or Parent Club designation of ROM.

BITCH:  Her progeny must achieve 40 or more points.  Points must be earned by 4 or more progeny.  Two progeny must have an AKC title of champion or Parent Club designation of ROM.
